About

Hi there

We’re Gap locals. I’ve lived in the area for over 20 years and thought it time our little corner of the world had a bigger voice.  We’ve seen the area grow to be the largest suburb in Brisbane and location sought over. And why wouldn’t it be?  With our schools having enviable reputations for churning out high achieving students year after year. But equally important opportunities for kids with special needs are catered to.

Our son went to Payne Road Primary School, and pre-school which was a fabulous start for him. He loved his time there and Martin and I also have very fond memories of the school.

Our local shopping centre is growing with the ‘Aldi’ extension last year been a boon for the suburb.  Mind you we are so well catered for with local shopping centres at Keperra and Ashgrove that we’re spoilt for choice. And what a good position to be in.

Great little cafes and ‘vibby’ bars opening in our surrounding suburbs provide some great locations to catch up with friends and enjoy some time out.

Our local surrounding areas provide fabulous opportunities for mountain biking, bush walks and now we have the enogerra dam near Walkabout Creek a great destination for a bushwalk and swim on a hot afternoon. A lovely bush setting and one that so many kids these days just do not get to experience. So much of our time generally gets spent in ‘sterile’ or artificial environments sometimes it’s just so nice to get back to nature. Away from the ringing phones and reminders of the latest f/b message delivered and listen to wildlife and just enjoy peace.  How lucky we are to have this opportunity on our doorstep.

We’d like this site to be used as a local voice for locals, schools, churches, sporting organisations and other groups and businesses within our community to reach residents. A resource to turn to for information on ‘what’s happening’ in the Gap and surrounding suburbs.

Thanks for joining us

Lyn
